A trip to Marrakech (Morocco) and Galleri Juul - what do you think?

What an Easter - two exciting things have happened.

The holiday started with me standing in the most beautiful farm shop at Galleri Juul in Annisse. Some of my Fair Trade products were allowed to stand among beautiful ceramics, paintings, plants and much more. It was so nice and I was able to sell quite a few Senegal baskets. Lovely.

Next we (my husband, our two grown children and me) went to Marrakech. It was both holiday and shopping. I got some nice pillowcases and poufs home. And believe me, it would be very easy to fill 10 extra suitcases with goodies. But we didn't. Because that's exactly what is special about Molly's Heart, that our purpose is to help people out of poverty. We do this through fair cooperation.

Fair in the sense that their working and salary conditions must be such that they can create a dignified life for themselves and their family with schooling for the children. And finding such business partners and making such agreements takes time. In fact, it takes a long time. Because I have to be absolutely sure that my payment goes to the women - and only the women, that it is not children who produce, that only the materials I have approved are used and much, much more.

But I am thinking a lot about whether I should try to establish cooperation on e.g. ceramics, lamps, cactus-silk products, wool products etc

My little "test shipment" will include to decide it. I would therefore very much like to hear your opinion. What do you think? Can I sell socially responsible and Fair Trade products from Morocco?

I hope to hear feedback from you. Feel free to write to birgitte@mollysheart.dk.

Thanks in advance.

With love, Birgitte
