Beautiful handwoven baskets that can be used for bread, fruit or as a beautiful decoration.
The woven dishes/baskets are bought on Fair Trade terms directly from the women who weave them. All baskets are handmade and may therefore vary slightly in size, color and pattern.
The traditional baskets with one or more colors are woven with a colored plastic thread and thereby the beautiful pattern and beautiful colors that characterize the Senegal baskets appear. The plastic thread is made from biodegradable recycled plastic.
Sizes: Approx. 9 cm high, 28 - 30 cm wide.

Our baskets are produced by a number of women from the Theis Region approx. 122 km north of Dakar, Senegal. These women work hard to provide for their families. Either they work on our products, or they work cultivating their fields.
Most of the women's villages do not yet have electricity and water, ie. they have to walk more than 5 kilometers to charge their phones and fetch water using donkeys or horses.Basket weaving has long been the means of earning extra money in addition to cultivating the fields.
