The most beautiful basket bags woven by Ghanaian women on Danish Fair Trade terms.
The bags are made of elephant grass and are the result of a long process and an ancient, traditional craft. Bags are always hand-woven and have leather handles.
The majority of the producers are vulnerable women who cannot read or write and who primarily make a living from selling baskets and bags. The area where the baskets are produced, Bolgatanga in northern Ghana, is characterized by extreme poverty.
