The most beautiful and original Senegalese laundry baskets in elephant grass, made Fair Trade by women from Senegal.

XL: 65-68 cm high, 85 cm with lid, 48 cm in diameter.
Large: 58 cm high without lid, 75 cm with lid and 45 cm in diameter
Medium: 46 cm high without lid, 66 cm with lid and 35 cm in diameter
Small: 35 cm high without lid, 50 cm with lid and 25 cm in diameter

All baskets are handmade and may therefore vary slightly in size.

NOTE: All our baskets are woven from elephant grass (as opposed to sea grass, among other things) and therefore withstand moisture and maintain their firmness and shape.

The traditional baskets with one or more colors are woven with a colored plastic thread, thereby creating the beautiful pattern that characterizes Senegalese baskets. The plastic thread is made from recycled plastic.

Our baskets are produced by a group of women from the Theis Region (about 122 km north of Dakar) in Senegal. These women work hard to support their families. They either work on our products or they work to cultivate their fields. Most of the women's villages do not yet have electricity and water and weaving our baskets is a crucial means of earning a living.
