Beautiful handwoven baskets that can be used for laundry, paper baskets, potty hides or simply as a beautiful decoration.
The baskets are bought on Fair Trade terms directly from the women who weave them. All baskets are handmade and may therefore vary slightly in size, color and pattern.
The organic baskets are woven with straw and threads made from the leaves of the Bismarck palm, which are split up so they can be used to weave with.

Our baskets are produced by a number of women from the Theis Region approx. 122 km north of Dakar, Senegal. These women work hard to provide for their families. Either they work on our products, or they work cultivating their fields. Most of the women's villages do not yet have electricity and water, ie. they have to walk more than 5 kilometers to charge their phones and fetch water using donkeys or horses. Basket weaving has long been a means of earning extra money in addition to cultivating the fields.
