Woman with hat – bronze sculpture, black dress, 15 cm

This sculpture was created by the artist Soré from Burkina Faso. Each figure is unique and may therefore vary slightly from the image.

Working with bronze is a traditional craft in Burkina Faso. The bronze comes from recycled old fittings, such as taps or parts from air-conditioning systems. The artist first creates a wax model, which is covered with a mixture of sand, clay and manure. Once the mould is dry, it is fired so that the wax melts and runs out through openings.
