All baskets are handmade and may therefore vary slightly in size, color and pattern.
The curves come in two variants; the traditional and the organic baskets.
The traditional baskets with one or more colors are woven with a colored plastic thread and thereby the beautiful pattern that characterizes Senegal baskets appears. The plastic thread is made from recycled plastic.
The organic baskets are woven with straw and threads made from the leaves of the Bismarck palm, which are split up so they can be used to weave with.
Our baskets are produced by a number of women from the Theis Region (approx. 122 km north of Dakar) in Senegal. These women work hard to provide for their families. Either they work on our products, or they work cultivating their fields. Most of the women's villages do not yet have electricity and water, and weaving our baskets is a vital means of earning money.
